Over 100 Public Electronics Recycling Events... No wonder we are tired
August 2011 Dallas Texas

This month the Erecycler public events count will top 120. We are proud of collecting over a million pounds of electronic waste since our first public recycling event. Using the national averages for transport and disposal our efforts have saved local municiplaities $40000.00 in fees. Keep thousands of pounds of leaded glass out of those same landfills is a price we cannot calculate.

PC Magazine Recommends Erecycler for Larger Companies
November 2007

Larger companies should turn to specialist businesses, such as Erecycler (www.erecycler.net) or the industry leader, NextPhase (www.nextphaseglobal.com) (no Longer in business). NextPhase effectively "demanufactures" computers. After removing the data (and providing Sarbanes-Oxley–compliant certifications), it tries to sell the components and subassemblies, even the subcomponents. Getting certification is a strong motivator, but the potential to make money off your trash is a good one, too.

Texas Take Back Program!
Coming soon to a recycling center near you.

The 2007 Texas Legislature passed House Bill 2714 requiring computer manufacturers to offer electronic equipment recycling programs for consumers in Texas. One of only seven states to have enacted a "take back" law, Texas has mandated that computer manufacturers provide authorized recovery site information on all new computer equipment beginning September, 2008. What may not be as well known, however, is that manufacturers are NOT required to be responsible for any data left on those computers. Consumers will still be responsible for their own information privacy and should be aware of their options to reduce the risks in utilizing this kind of program.

Faster Faster !
This summer it was all about speed.

We made a few improvements to the tear down areas, the new tooling really sped up disassembly. The heat did not slow down our tear down or pick up crews. This summers record days were whoppers for us, 37000 pounds of monitors picked up in a day on local pick ups. Two tin roll offs filled in 12 hours... mostly computer cases. Chris completely soaked two shirts in two hours at the June Plano event.
